           Welcome to Call to Decision

Subject: Canine Unit at Abortion Mill...

Considering the attention my SUV got in the local paper last week (See article below) and a fellow pro-life activist getting shot to death in Michigan for simply holding a pro-life sign, I decided to bring along my canine unit to the mill today.

Gisela, my prayer partner and an avid animal lover, had a good time with Bear Bear patrolling the sidewalk while I reached out to the parents headed into the abortion mill.

Bear Bear also seemed to have a calming effect on the clients in the mill parking lot. At least no one approached us in anger today.

If anyone attempted to vandalize my vehicle across the street, Bear Bear and I would pay him/her a quick visit.

No one did though. Bear Bear is quite visible from the SUV :-)

Graphic nature of anti-abortion banners upset Montclair resident

MONTCLAIR - City Council members are unsure if they can limit when three anti-abortion banners are displayed. The banners protest the Family Planning Associate Medical Group on the northwest corner of San Bernardino Street and Fremont Avenue.

The medical group, which has been in the city for more than eight years, performs abortions.

The banners are attached to the driver and passenger sides as well as the back of a sport utility vehicle.

At Tuesday's council meeting, resident Liza Harari said she doesn't have a problem with demonstrators and acknowledges their rights, but takes issue with the photos on the banners.

"One photo is showing the intestines of the child with all the blood and the other one has a baby head held in tongs," said Harari, who has lived in Montclair for 22 years. "If it makes me want to throw up, what do you think a child would want to do?"

Harari said it wasn't until she had children that the photos started to bother her.

Harari said she doesn't know if the city has the right to censor the banners or if there is a way the SUV can display their banners at different times.

"Because, right now, it's when school starts, and kids are walking right by there," she said.

"I walked by it Tuesday with my 2- and 3-year-old and they saw it. They understand what it is, but their faces looked like they were traumatized from it."

Harari's contention is not uncommon, Mayor Paul Eaton said.
"Most of us have seen the pictures and have been through this several times. You're not alone ... " Eaton said. "But folks do have their rights to do that."

Council members instructed City Attorney Diane Robbins to look into whether the city has any jurisdiction or legal rights to remove the images from the SUV.

Protesters are usually in front of the business twice a week, Tuesday and Friday, and have always complied with city ordinances, Community Development Director Steve Lustro said.

"So long as they are playing by the rules, they're allowed to be there just like everyone else," Lustro said. "They too have First Amendment rights that have to be respected."

I believe I caught Liza on my voice recorder as she passed by across the street from the abortion mill where Gisela and I were. She was pulling her two toddlers in a wagon while yelling the 'F' word and other obscenities at us.

The students who walk by the mill at that time of day are of high school age.

Sometimes past abortions start to bother the mother after giving birth to later conceived children because she finally realizes how precious all children really are.

When she told us we should go home get a job, I told her we get treasure in Heaven.

Here is the link to the audio file of the City Council meeting. Liza Harari spoke in the first few minutes.

Wow, Google maps must have took the mill's street view picture while Gisela and I were there with our anti-abortion display some time ago. Check it out:

Enter this address in the 'Google Maps' box:

5040 San Bernardino St, Montclair, CA 91763

Hover over the red marker with your cursor. When the balloon appears click on "Street View". You can move the photo with your cursor 360 degrees and zoom in. Gisela, me, our sidewalk signs and SUV is in the photo. It must be Friday for I am wearing red to support the troops!
