=== 1. "I think I might be gay" -- Homosexual
recruitment pamphlets handed out in Massachusetts high schools
"gay day" event.
Parents denied access by principal. Parents rights bill needed! ===
Suppose your son came home from school one day
with a pamphlet
-- given to him by the school. Suppose it told your son this this:
Men who call themselves
gay are sexually
attracted to and fall in love with other men. Their sexual
feelings toward men
are normal and natural for them. These feelings emerge when they
are boys and
the feelings continue into adulthood. . . "I don't remember
exactly when I first
knew I was gay, but I do remember that the thought of sex with
men always
excited me."
"I had to reject a
lot of negative
heterosexual and religious programming that made me feel lousy
about myself as a
gay person. I began to like myself by meeting other gay people
and going to a
gay support group."
"But it is crucial to
be honest with
yourself. Just as self-denial costs you, coming out pays off.
Most kids who
accept their sexuality say they feel calmer, happier and more
confident."
This was given out to students at Newton North
High School in
December, during an all-day "Transgender Bisexual Gay Lesbian
Awareness Day"
event (which the school called "ToBeGLAD Day"). By order
of the principal, parents were not allowed to attend. The
pamphlet also lists places kids can go to meet homosexuals. How
would something
like this affect a kid who might be going through a confused and
vulnerable time
in his life? Well . . . the school isn't interested in what
YOU think.
And since the recent ruling in the David Parker lawsuit, it will
only get worse!
Here's the pamphlet: "I think I might be
gay - now what do I
do?"
http://www.massresistance.org/docs/downloads/school_handouts/IMightBeGay.pdf
And here's another one that was given out that
day.
This slick booklet is from national homosexual
group targeting
kids.

And there's more to show you - this was just the
beginning.
Check the MassResistance website tomorrow (Thursday).
Are you going to stand
for this?
Right now, legislators are balking at supporting the Parents
Rights Bill!!
Are you going to let a bunch of cowardly Massachusetts legislators
just look the
other way, claiming they have "more important" things to
attend to, and they
"aren't ready" to co-sponsor the new Parents Rights Bill
(see below)?
Well, if you feel strongly about this, don't let them off the
hook.
MAKE THEM support this. (For example, email
the above
"pamphlet" to them, then call them up and make
them answer for it!
The emails are on the list of reps on our
Take
Action page,
under "web site" in the grid.)
=== 2. Just days left to get co-sponsors to Parents
Rights Bill!
Make those calls & visits and SEND A
MESSAGE to the
Massachusetts Legislature that we're serious! (Now up to 24
co-sponsors!) ===
The deadline is this Monday, March 19!! This
is very
important. We all need to make a statement in this Legislature.
Right now, we've got 24 co-sponsors. Some reps have been
telling people that's
enough. Why do we need more?
First of all, it's not uncommon for bills by the homosexual lobby
to have at
least that many sponsors. Right now, there's a "transgender
rights" bill coming
up (which we'll be reporting on this coming week) that already
has 23
co-sponsors. Some bills have as many as 40 or 50 co-sponsors.
And that's because having lots of co-sponsors does two
important things:
(1) It sends a message to the Legislature that the
bill has lots of
broad support, and must be taken seriously.
(2) It makes reps and senators put their name on that
legislation.
It makes them commit publicly. That's very powerful
psychologically.
So don't let anyone tell you that having lots of sponsors is not
important.
Here's what you should do.
* Go to our TAKE Action Page
* You can print out the Parents Rights Bill and our Talking
Points.
* Call call call -- as many reps and senators as you
can, especially your own.
Visit them if possible. Join some friends and go to the State
House if you can
(we can set you up for that).
* Keep after them until you get a (positive) answer that they will
sign on as a
co-sponsor to the Parents Rights Bill S2063. Don't be afraid to be
angry, if this is important to you.
* In order to become a co-sponsor, they MUST call Sen. Robert
Hedlund's office
by Monday.
* Let us know your progress. Check our website every day.
Here's the Take Action page:
http://www.massresistance.org/take_action.html
ALSO: Here are the new "top dozen" reps to call now
(deadline's
Monday!)
(These are from our "Take Action Page" list.) Thanks
to your hard work, three
legislators from Monday's "top ten" list have signed on:
Rep. Jay Barrows, Rep.
Lewis Evangelidis, and Sen. Bruce Tarr. We've also taken Rep. Paul
Donato off
the list; he called our office and said that he supports the bill
and will vote
for it, and still may co-sponsor it, but his committee
chairmanship made it
awkward for him to co-sponsor any bills. And Sen. Steven
Panagiotakos seems
hopeless; maybe it's his liberal staff.
So we've added some more to the end of the list to make it an
even dozen.
These are all office numbers, so call and keep calling until you
get a definite
answer. For some
reason, these guys aren't quite ready to give you your rights. And
also, call
the rest of the list on our
Take
Action page.
Rep Brad Jones (R-North Reading) 617-722-2100
He's sponsored a similar but less effective bill (actually, the
same wording we
had last year). So he's with us in principle. Needs to sign on to
this.
Rep Paul Loscocco (R-Holliston) 617-722-2220
Is with us on this, but keeps coming up with lame excuses why he
can't sign on.
Rep Joyce Spiliotis (D-Peabody) 617-722-2430
Joyce was the SPONSOR last time, and we helped her in her
2004 campaign. Seems
to want to avoid any hassle this time; says she doesn't want to
get involved. So
why run for office?
Sen Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge) 617-722-1420
Was a co-sponsor of the bill last time. Needs to sign on again.
Rep James R. Miceli (D-Wilmington) 617-722-2582
Was a co-sponsor of the bill last time. Needs to sign on
again.
Rep. Robert Nyman (D-Hanover) 617-722-2020
Personally called us up and asked questions about the bill,
considering whether
to support and co-sponsor.
Rep. Walter Timilty (D-Milton) 617-722-2810
An aide told us he supports the bill.
Rep. John Fresolo (D-Worcester)
617-722-2240
Sends his own kids to Catholic private school, according to aide.
Rep. Brian Wallace (D-South Boston)
617-722-2013
Aide said he should be with us on these issues.
Rep. Patrick Natale (D-Woburn) 617-722-2810
Is known to be a family man, four young sons. Against GLBT youth
programs in
schools, we've been told.
Rep. Todd Smola (R-Palmer) 617-722-2240
Ran as a conservative. Let's see if he's for real.
Rep. Paul Casey (D-Winchester) 617-722-2380
Has been with us on issues. Needs to step up to plate on this.
=== 3. And don't forget our other bills . . . ===
We didn't stop at just a Parents Rights bill! These
other five bills
are also important, and also need co-sponsors!
If your state rep or senator will sign on to one or more
(or all) of these, it would help greatly. It's the same drill --
have them call
Sen. Robert Hedlund to get signed on. Click on each bill title to
read more.
=== 4. Front page Sunday NY Times article exposes other
Mass. pro-family
groups taking $$$ from Romney, then endorsing him. ===
Page one of the Sunday New York Times had an article describing
Massachusetts
pro-family groups which accepted thousands of dollars from Mitt
Romney, then
endorsed him (although other groups refused to do so). A pretty
sad state of
affairs. The MassResistance website is quoted, tho we weren't
interviewed for
the article. Also, local Catholic activist
Carol McKinley's blog is mentioned, and she gives more info on
this.

movement, and
your loss of freedoms that they bring.
And then some good news -- how the battle isn't

we do the right things.
Please help MassResistance continue to do our job! If we don't
win the fights going on in our Legislature over the next several
