Welcome to Call to Decision
Indiana Jones and the Temple of
Scientology
 |
Steven Spielberg's latest
movie, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal
Skull," manages to deliver a key component of the
Scientology creation myth in an entertainment package that
provides so much action that no one except this writer has
noticed that the movie could be a Scientology evangelistic
vehicle created by L. Ron Hubbard himself if he still occupied
this carnal sphere and if he held copyright on the
"Indiana Jones" brand. Read on and this
article can help you understand the nature of the battle
everyone who is in Christ should be fighting today. |
(Christian Gallery News Service, May 26, 2008) This article assumes
you have some real understanding of the way mythology operates in our
world today. Otherwise a book is required rather than a movie review.
In other words, to make sense of the evidence that follows, you need
to have at least a scant knowledge of the foundational human
reengineering strategy of the 20th century, the project most clearly
defined by Joseph Campbell, the reengineering strategy that can
increasingly be seen in virtually all the federal government allied
communication vehicles like network news programs, educational
curricula at every grade level, and the mass entertainment industry.
If you don't know about that project, then I don't see how you can
understand this article, much less this century. If you need
documentation that the myth-making duo of Steven Spielberg and George
Lucus have spent their record-setting movie making careers
implementing what Joseph Campbell defined as the goal for all humanity
and all time in the final book of his four-book series called
"The Masks of the Gods," then you have simply missed the
decisive story of the 20th century. If you don't know about Campbell
and his ilk, you might as well stop reading now and go study Joseph
Campbell and his fellow "mythologists."
But for those in the know, I'll recap the salient facts. Campbell's
book was named Creative Mythology and it challenged
all communicators, but especially artists, to define a new mythology
that would once and for all eliminate the ancient
"mythologies" (read Christianity) that Campbell believed had
not only enthralled mankind but created most of the human misery
during what Campbell called "the dear childhood of the
brain"--the period most of us refer to as recorded history.
L. Ron Hubbard, the artist who has the clearest claim to the title of
"Best of Breed" among the disciples of Joseph Campbell,
created the religion of Scientology.
At the heart of the Scientologist's myth is the idea that space aliens
came to earth and provided both the good and the bad impetus for
mankind's transformation from cavemen to what we see today. To be more
specific, central to the Scientology myth was the idea that space
aliens provided our species with the knowledge that allowed us to
morph from cavemen (cavepeople) to the agrarian technologists who
provided the non-cave and non-predatory foundation upon which we
ascended to our present plateau.
Now here's the point of this article. Pay close attention to
the dialogue in the latest Indiana Jones movie and you will hear
Indiana tell everyone watching the movie that all our fore bearers got
out of their caves and learned to be so cool because space aliens from
a far-advanced civilization came and taught us the things we needed to
get our of our caves. Not only do you hear Indiana explain that story,
the rest of the movie provides "evidence" that proves the
space alien story is "true" in the "scientific"
manner required by all Scientologists.
SO WHAT?
Here's what. The theme of the Holy Bible is a message about A Creator,
an invisible Spirit, who revealed Himself to mankind in diverse ways,
and through whose revelation came all the life-giving guidance that
brought mankind to this present condition. The Bible does not talk
about space aliens but instead talks about the Holy Spirit of The
Creator as the source from which mankind derived all the wisdom that
provided all the good things, not only on earth, but throughout the
universe of space and time. This message about The Creator is the
foundation, not only for all human understanding but, most especially,
for the gospel of Jesus Christ as well. And this message about The
Creator is the most important message that can be delivered to our
species.
This preceding analysis about The Creator is validated by the things
the Apostle Paul was recorded saying in the Acts of the Apostles:
Act 17:22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye
men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too
superstitious.
Act 17:23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found
an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore
ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
Act 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing
that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made
with hands;
Act 17:25 Neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though he
needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and
all things;
Act 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to
dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times
before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Act 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel
after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of
us:
Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as
certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his
offspring.
Act 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought
not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or
stone, graven by art and man's device.
Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now
commandeth all men every where to repent:
Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will
judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath
ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he
hath raised him from the dead.
When The Creator Has No Rights
Where do we stand today in the competition between The Creator and the
other myriad creation stories vying for the minds of mankind? Think
what happens when people grant equal credibility to the
"Technology from Space Aliens" story and The Creator account
specified by Paul.
If you don't believe that is what is happening in the USA, you have
not read any of a string of US Supreme Court decisions about The
Creator's role in this nation over the last 15 years. The idea that
there is a A Creator who created each and every person who has ever
lived, and appointed the precise time and place where they would be
born (...And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on
all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before
appointed, and the bounds of their habitation), has been decreed by
the highest federal government authorities to be simply another myth,
one that has no Right to be believed any more than the creation
account defined by the Scientologists, or by Steven Spielberg, for
that matter.
If you want to know why Western Civilization is easily seen today to
be a "post-Christian" culture, study the latest Indiana
Jones flick. It really should have been titled "Indiana Jones and
the Temple of Scientology" because it contains all the
ingredients that explain how Christendom itself has become simply
another "myth" from "the dear childhood of the
brain."
The US Government Creates A New Religion
This story would not be important if artists and other communicators
like them were the only characters in the story. But we live in a
nation whose central government has committed itself to destroying the
Rights of The Creator. When that happens, the worst case scenario for
Christians has come full circle. We might as well be back in the time
of Caesar when the God of the Bible was seen to be an enemy of Caesar.
How could such a revolution have occurred if all the millions of
people who call themselves Christians actually believed what their
Bible teaches about God?
It's easy to understand how Christendom was persecuted and driven
underground during the first three centuries after Christ. Christendom
was being born; there were comparatively few Christians in a Roman
Empire that forced people to worship Caesar or die.
But that's not the case today. There are untold millions of Christians
in the USA alone. And all of us who call ourselves Christians have
impotently watched the world enter a "post-Christian" phase.
How could such a revolution have happened if Christians actually
believed what the Bible teaches about God?
We live in a post-Christian culture because the Christians in the USA
have literally been brain-washed into thinking they were obligated to
support the "religion" defined by the federal government of
the USA. In fact, vast numbers in this generation of Christians have
created a new "Christian" theology that falsely teaches
people that the message in the Bible all along required Christians to
believe that everyone has the right to believe anything they want to
believe about God.
Nothing could be farther from the truth, and nothing could be more
dangerous to the nation that officially teaches such a lie.
To see what I am talking about you need to examine what happens when
the central government of a nation--the government that provides the
peace and prosperity upon which people depend for their very
survival--decrees that the citizens of that nation have the right to
believe anything they want to believe about God. In such a scenario,
the highest authority on earth--their earthly government with all its
guns and soldiers and Weapons of Mass Destruction--takes the
initiative in teaching people that what they believe about God is not
a critical component in the survival of either the individual or the
nation. But actually such a government goes much further than that:
the logic of such a government decree about "religion"
teaches its citizens that what is important to survival is
people's ability to believe whatever they want to believe about God. A
government that teaches people they have the right to believe whatever
they want to believe about God does not help people "seek the
Lord" if "the Lord" is the Being described by the
Apostle Paul. In fact, such a government implies that seeking after
One, True God is simply wrong. The government, by default,
teaches people that the path of wisdom requires each and every person
to believe that there are many gods, each of whom is exactly equal to
any other, and no matter what a person decides to believe about god,
they will face no consequences that government is obligated to tell
them about.
When a government that has committed itself to teaching its citizens
that they have to right to believe anything they want to believe about
God has at its service mass communication channels like the news media
and the arts and the educational establishment and then such a
government literally creates the train of thought filling the minds of
virtually every inhabitant of a nation, Christendom cannot be
sustained. That much is obvious. When the people who run that mass
communication media have embraced the "survival strategy"
defined by Joseph Campbell, a strategy that requires the destruction
of Christendom, each and every citizen in the nation becomes like
putty in the hands of the mass communicators...or to take a Biblical
metaphor, becomes like clay in the Potter's hands.
And we begin to see what is happening around us today: Indiana Jones
and the Temple of Scientology being only one of myriad examples.
Maybe it's too late for old folks like my generation. But it's not too
late for young people to wake up and begin to defend the Kingdom of
Christ on Earth.
But unless you become very sensitive to the brain washing techniques
described here, you will find yourself being conditioned to think that
each and every model of god and each and every creation story and each
and every salvation account has the right to be tolerated just as the
government has decreed.
To see how evil such a government policy is, imagine that there is a
Creator like the One we earlier heard the Apostle Paul describe.? What
if the One, True Creator of all things wanted, as taught by the
Apostle Paul, all people on the earth to know about Him so that each
individual "...should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel
after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of
us..."
Unless Christians defended that precise God, such a Christian culture
as the one we have around us today--a Christian culture in a
"post-Christian world"--we would make that Creator our
mortal enemy. And consequences would begin to be obvious. Consequences
like these:
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in
them; for God hath showed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the
world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are
made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without
excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not
as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their
imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an
image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted
beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through
the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies
between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped
and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed
forever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for
even their women did change the natural use into that which is
against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the
woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men
working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that
recompense of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their
knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those
things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication,
wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder,
debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters,
inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural
affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit
such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have
pleasure in them that do them.
If you read the newspaper, or watch the news programs, you will see
that this nation has been experiencing the things defined above in an
ever-growing tsunami of sin and crime and perversion. The Judgment of
God that carries the wrath of God has been being revealed for years
against we the people of the United States of America, but we've
managed to deny the truth about this nation into our minds. That is
coming to an end. We the people of this generation have been spending
all the good will capital and resources accumulated by this nation
over 200 years of being a light to the nations. We are nearing
bankruptcy. The next time you are in rush hour traffic, look around
you and imagine what will happen when we realize we have squandered
all God's good will and have made our nation His enemy.
By God's grace it ain't over 'til it's over. We still have time to
repent. I'm doing my best to show what repentance looks like. How
about you?
If you are in repentance, please contact me. I have a plan to show the
nation what defending Christendom looks like in word and deed.
